Healing the Pressure Behind Performance
As a former competitive athlete, I know what it’s like. Training and competition often come with an unspoken expectation: keep pushing, stay strong, and don’t let the pressure show.
From the outside, you may look focused and disciplined. But internally, your mind might be constantly analyzing performances, worrying about the next competition, or questioning whether you’re doing enough to stay competitive. A tough practice, a mistake, or an injury can quickly shake your confidence and linger long after the moment has passed.
Over time, the pressure to improve, meet expectations, and maintain your place in your sport can start to feel overwhelming. What once brought excitement or purpose may begin to feel stressful, heavy, or emotionally draining.
Therapy for sport performance creates space to slow down and explore the mental side of being an athlete. Together, we can work toward building confidence, managing pressure, and developing a healthier relationship with both performance and yourself.
You don’t have to carry the weight of performance alone.
Sport performance challenges can show up in many different ways, and many athletes seek therapy not because of one specific moment, but because of the pressure and mental strain that have built over time. Your relationship with training, competition, and performance may have gradually started to feel more stressful, self-critical, or overwhelming. If you’re wondering whether sport performance therapy could help, you might recognize yourself in some of the experiences below.

Meet Your Sport Performance Psychologist
Hi, I’m Taylor, a Licensed Psychologist and former competitive athlete. I help adults navigate the mental and emotional pressures of sport, untangle exhausting patterns of self-doubt and performance anxiety, and build a healthier, more balanced relationship with training, competition, and themselves. I know firsthand how it feels when every practice, game, or season seems to determine your worth, leaving you exhausted, anxious, or disconnected from your love of the sport.
Having been in the athlete’s shoes, I understand how easy it is to get caught in cycles of overthinking, comparing yourself to others, or feeling like you’re never doing enough. My approach is grounded in collaboration and curiosity — together, we’ll explore your experiences, identify the ways you’re already coping, and discover strategies that help you feel more present, confident, and capable in the moment. Therapy becomes a place where you can pause, reflect, and build skills that actually support your performance rather than add pressure.
I’m passionate about this work because I’ve seen how much relief comes from being understood by someone who truly gets the athlete mindset. By combining practical mental skills with compassionate guidance, I help athletes reconnect with what makes sport meaningful, rebuild confidence after setbacks, and approach both competition and life with greater clarity and balance. You don’t have to navigate this alone — I’m here to support you every step of the way.
